ANSWERS, NOT RUNAROUNDS

A good question
deserves a clear answer.

How Hyre works, how payments work, and what to expect from our planned Columbus pilot.

How does Hyre work?

Describe your task and choose: let Hyre find an eligible worker, or browse worker profiles and request a custom quote. Your approved price is shown before payment. Hyre is preparing its Columbus pilot; public bookings are not yet open.

What is AI Matching?

Hyre checks eligible workers and sends invitations in batches. If a worker provisionally accepts, you see an anonymous suitability summary and have three hours to pay. Availability is checked again at checkout.

Can I choose someone myself?

Yes. Browse approved worker profiles, request a quote, chat about the job and approve an itemized proposal before paying through Hyre.

When do I pay?

The full approved total is due before the worker is cleared to travel. Searching, posting a request or opening a quote conversation does not itself charge you.

What services are available?

The initial Columbus pilot is focused on everyday cleaning, simple freestanding assembly and light ground-level yard care. High-risk and regulated work is not approved.

Are workers verified or insured?

We only show check-specific verification if the check was actually completed. Worker approval, identity screening, insurance and policies are being finalized before launch.

What if my worker becomes unavailable?

Before payment, Hyre can look for another equivalently eligible worker. After payment, we will not silently substitute someone; any replacement needs your approval or an appropriate cancellation/refund option.

Is Ask Hyre free?

Ask Hyre is designed as a free-to-start helper with usage limits for general low-risk DIY questions. It is not a substitute for professional advice on dangerous tasks.

Does Hyre serve my ZIP code?

Columbus, Ohio is our initial focus. Enter your ZIP to prepare a request. Service coverage and actual availability are confirmed separately during the pilot.
